Here in North Carolina we love college basketball. We were excited to see four local boys drafted in the first round of the 2014 NBA draft. Congratulations to Jabari Parker, T.J. Warren, Rodney Hood, and P.J. Hairston. Good luck in the NBA!
After just one season with the Duke Blue Devils, Jabari Parker entered the NBA draft. So far, it looks like this 19-year-old forward made the right move by entering the draft. Parker was taken by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 2nd overall pick.
The 2014 ACC Player of the Year, T.J. Warren was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 14th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft. During his sophomore season at NC State, Warren led the ACC in scoring with 24.9 points per game.
The Utah Jazz selected Duke forward Rodney Hood with the 23rd overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Hood began his career at Mississippi State before transferring to Duke. In his one season with the Blue Devils, Hood was the second leading scorer for the Blue Devils after Jabari Parker.
Former UNC guard P.J. Hairston was chosen by the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2014 NBA draft, and was traded to the Charlotte Hornets. Hairston averaged 14.6 points in the 2012-13 season at UNC.
