Elizabeth Caldwell is a Surface Designer and Licensed Artist residing in New Jersey. She has been drawing and doodling since she could hold a pencil. Growing up in the Bronx in the 1980's to a very strict Catholic family led her to immerse herself in all forms of artistic expression. It was her way of escaping and expressing herself. She graduated from WIlliam Paterson University in 2000 with a BFA in Graphic Design and studied abroad for a year at Nottingham Trent University in Nottingham, UK. It was in England that she learned to go back to her traditional art methods of drawing, mark making and collage and veered away from digital design. Today she embraces both her Mac and her sketchbook and art supplies and tries to combine both digital and traditional methods in her work. Her patterns and designs have been licensed on paper products and fabric and can be found at Target, Michael's, Dollar Tree, Robert Kaufman Fabrics, TinyPrints.com, SimplytoImpress.com and Society6.com, to name a few.
