Using the Elements Carousel (Advanced User)
Learn how to best utilize the elements carousel using these helpful tips.
Step 2. Choosing a Category
Down the left hand column, underneath the preview of your photo, you will see a list of categories. You can scroll up and down this column to find the category you are looking for. Some categories have "sub-categories". When you click on a category like this, a new column will open up to the right, and you can view all of the sub-categories. To return to the main column, simply click on the left column again, or if you are ready to select a sub-category, click on one.
Step 3. Viewing the New Category (Sub-Category)
The category or sub-category you selected in the previous step will now appear. In this example, we chose the "Birthday - 17 & Under" sub-category.
Step 4. Switching the Elements Type View (Designs to Stickers)
Our elements carousel hosts all the different types of elements we offer in the app: designs, stickers and frames. The "yellow" icon in the top left corner will highlight which category you are in. If you want to switch from one category to another (in this example, from designs to stickers), click on the "yellow" icon, and then select the "stars" icon.
Step 5. The Stickers Carousel
In step 4, you switched from the design carousel to the sticker carousel. It has the same functionality as the design carousel, except we are showcasing our sticker content rather than our design content.
Step 6. Switching the Elements Type View (Stickers to Frames)
Just as we did in step 4, you can switch between element types. The "yellow" icon in the top left corner will highlight which category you are in. If you want to switch from one category to another (in this example, from stickers to frames), click on the "yellow" icon, and then select the "frame" icon.
Step 7. The Frames Carousel
In step 6, you switched from the sticker carousel to the frame carousel. It has the same functionality as the design and sticker carousels, except we are showcasing our frame content rather than our designs or stickers content. In this carousel, the default view is to show two columns of frames.
Step 8. Switching the Number of Columns
Our carousel allows for you to use a pinch to zoom motion to switch the number of columns shown. The default number of frame columns is two. By pinching to zoom, you can increase it to three columns, as shown in this example. For reference, our stickers and designs default to three columns. You can use the similar pinch to zoom function to switch to two columns.
Step 9. Using Global Search Function
A key component of our elements carousel is the global search function. By typing in the search box, we will query our database and return all the elements that match the query, including designs, stickers and frames. In this example, we will search the keyword "Birthday".
Step 10. Search Results Page
In step 9, we searched for the keyword "Birthday". On this page, we show all the results for that keyword. You can scroll to find the element you want to use, you can search for a new keyword, or you can click on the "x" button to return to the elements carousel.
